I decided on little triangles and got cutting. Sometimes my quilty sense of space is scary. Exhibit A:
If you are like me and the problem is not immediately apparent - here it is!
Easily solved! I also ran out of the background fabric, because I really had no idea how much fabric those little triangles would use. Fortunately the background is lovely Kona Ash which I have a modest stash of, so I was able to finish my block.
Carolyn is an amazing quilter - I can't wait to see how all that negative space gets brought to life!
That is so cool! Yeah I didn't notice the oopsie til you pointed it out. Love the finished block!
ReplyDeleteNow THAT is a cool block! Very nice
ReplyDeleteThat is very cool. I am a bit woried as I am a pattern follower rather than a pattern creator!
ReplyDeleteWhen I saw this I was instantly jealous and annoyed you did such a great job with the HSTs that there is no way I can do them because I'll just end up copying you. Not that I was actually planning on them, it's just that now I really wish I'd had your idea! I'm sure Carolyn will be thrilled with yours, I would be!
ReplyDeleteI think this is a most amazing block, I am very very pleased with it. And grateful that you had Kona Ash in your stash! It was very hard trying to imagine how much fabric to give everyone when I had no idea what you would do. Carolyn
