Flying farfalle {a finished quilt top}

After buying a bundle of Cotton and Steel and not loving it *gasp of horror all round*, I wanted to make something quick that I would be happy to give away. I remembered Flying Farfalle by Ashley at Film in the Fridge and thought the navy would look great as the 'farfalle'. I also decided to add in a few coloured ones for fun.

I think I'll end up giving it to a niece or nephew so I stopped when I thought it looked big enough for a little person. From memory it's 50.5"x 60" so I should be able to quilt it myself without too much of a wrangle!

  3. I totally get what you mean. I don't understand what all the fuss is about with Cotton and Steel. I know what colours I love, and Cotton and Steel don't make fabrics in those colours. Yes, some people love the colours Cotton and Steel make, but I do wonder if some people are just trying to convince themselves they like the fabrics, when deep down they don't. You've tried them, and decided that it's not for you, and you can give this quilt away. It's still a very nice quilt and some lucky niece or nephew is going to nice and warm this winter (which is starting here today).

  6. I love the bluey-green look about it... dappled wintery sunlight, icy cold swimming pool! And the little 'pops' of bright are indeed perfect! It'll be a lovely TV cuddle quilt for someone special! L

  7. I don't like C&S that much either - gasp. I saw it in person for the first time in Feb and just stood there thinking I should lim them more than I did. I managed to buy one purple print and that was it.
    That said, I do like your quilt!

  8. I don't like it either! Haha! I thought I was alone. I see it all over Blogland and I can't really figure out why there was such a big deal made over it. All said, your top turned out nice.

  9. You are not alone in your non loving attitude towards C & S, there are a few prints I like, but nothing that screams buy me. Great quilt, I like the little colour POPS.

  11. I like some of the C and S, but definitely not all of it! I think Mochi is my favourite in terms of the colours. This is a great pattern choice though and you have made a cute quilt top :-)
