Gypsy Wife {a finished top}

An extra day as part of the weekend sure does come in handy for sewing. I think we should have them permanently! My goal was to get Gypsy Wife finished and I can happily report I met my goal!

It's very satisfying having this one finished. I'm going to put it away for a while now and think about plans for quilting.

  2. Looks really great Megan... beautifully scrappy! I think you have achieved a lovely balanced look over such a potpourri mix of colour! It's certainly a lot of work with all that piecing and getting the ribbon strips all lined up, well done! Linda

  11. Magnificent! I'm sure that given the status of women 175 years ago, on the original Waitangi Day a woman or two were quilting somewhere in NZ, while the men were signing the treaty.....so actually, you had a very traditional Waitangi weekend. Congrats on the quilt.

  12. Well done, it is amazing!! Maybe I won't give my just-started version away yet. And yes, 3 day weekends should be much more regular. A day for chores, a day for family, a day for relaxing/hobbies. That would suit me!

  14. I thought I had commented on this?! Must have been on IG. I still can't believe you just up and finished this off! I really should do the same. I have a goal to have mine done for something special in November so I had better get cracking. Your top is so colorful, bright, and just plain FUN!!! Love it. I guess if I get my top done soon and then get it quilted quickly I still have a chance to beat you and Liz to a finish. :) But I plan to handquilt this one, so probably not.
