I have been diligently following the Gypsy Wife QAL schedule, but the other day I started to feel a bit overwhelmed by my small mountain of mis-matched blocks. I decided that from here on in I need to sew the quilt in sections so that I don't unintentionally end up with a whole lot of same coloured blocks in one place.
It turned out to be a good decision - when I put section 1 together I had to make an extra pinwheel because none of the pinwheels I had seemed to work. As it is, its looking pretty crazy but I'm going to stick with it - we all need a bit of crazy right??
I certainly understand your reasoning! Working in sections like that makes more sense to me too! It's looking great now though! That chartreuse colour is amazing!
ReplyDeleteI love it! Crazy is good, I call it eclectic ;) I think her patterns suit it!
ReplyDeleteIt is looking good. I think it wld be easier putting it together as you go - I woukd lose track of all the pieces otherwise!
ReplyDeleteit looks great -- the colors will all work together in the end
ReplyDeleteDid you cut extra strips for the fabric for the section underneath? I've been thinking of making a second one (crazy) and I was contemplating making it in sections so I can have it altogether as I go, but I can only figure out the best way to do it is to keep extra strips aside from the first lot I add!
ReplyDeleteOh this is looking good so far
ReplyDeleteActually, I think it's looking just right, a real scrappy delight! (have only just seen this blog entry!)
ReplyDeleteI too was wondering about joining-up-as-u-go, more to check that all those crazy lovely little bits of colour meld cohesively! L
p.s. I'm using grey as my "background/pull it together" colour, but who knows if it will work!
