I wanted to keep it all AMH, so I chose one of her 'plainer' fabrics for the back. It was quilted in an all over pattern by Carol Fearon and I used a wool batting for the first time. I really like the wool, it seems to make it a bit puffier which, for this type of quilt, seems just the ticket!
Linking up a little belatedly over at Freshly Pieced.
I really really LOVE this one Megan! It makes me want to make a super saturated crazy AMH quilt too. I particularly like the black/grey border and how it ties everything together and makes the colours look even brighter. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteI love the richness of the colours in this one.
ReplyDeleteI love this one too Megan! Just beautiful! As Adrianne said the super saturated colours are stunning! I hope you don't mind, but I pinned this, just so I can look at it again and again!
ReplyDeleteYum yum. I'm not entirely sure that the colours suit your decor though. So, you know, if that ever really bothers you, I can probably help out. ;-)
ReplyDeleteoh my. That is lovely. The Parson Gray border is inspired. Snuggle up!
ReplyDeleteLike everyone else, I am entranced with how you placed your border in another colorway entirely! Wonderful! Can you give me the size of the quilt? I love everything AMH!
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly an eye catcher! and I too love how the black & grey adds an unexpected linear defintion to all the colour! well done! L
ReplyDeleteThis is stunning - love those rich jewel tones. I will have to start adding to my AMH stash, I feel I will need to make one of these one day ......
ReplyDeleteIt is so gorgeous! I really like how you used the black/gray border in the midst of all that saturated color. I love the quilt top pattern too!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous colors and love the backing fabric.
