I pushed on with my NICU baby quilt yesterday and got it all finished up. The block is called 'Megan's Star' from the book Modern Blocks-99 Quilt Blocks from your favorite designers.
I fiddled around and did some echo quilting.
I found myself laughing at my posture when I noticed I was all kind of slumped down, nose in by the needle as I tried to keep an eye on where I was heading. Obviously my careful reading of Free Motion Machine Quilting with its great section on posture has not had the desired effect. Yet. (I am the eternal optimist).
Looks good. It came together quickly!
ReplyDeleteThat looks so lovely! Love the colour combo :)
ReplyDeleteDid you have the weird squinty pirate thing happening? Or maybe that's just for FMQ..
Love the color combination. Vey nicely done!!
ReplyDeleteIt looks fantastic! I often have to drink wine whilst quilting to keet the shoulders at a decent level ;-)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful - I love everything about it - colours, "cornerstones" and the balance of the final quilt! Beautiful.
ReplyDeleteLovely, Megan! Congrats on the finish!
ReplyDeleteHow is that book? I know that posture is so important, but it's hard to keep good posture while also trying to quilt. It looks like you managed to get a beautiful echo despite the posture problems. Whatever works, eh?
Lovely, lovely quilt! So bright and cheerful! I hunch, too, when I quilt. Terrible habit.
ReplyDeleteWhat a divine little quilt and so appropriately named. Your colour choice is just so good. Wow the NICU and PICU babies and their families are going to get such amazing quilts this month. Mine is just about done - just a little more quilting. I started over the weekend so you were definitely not the last to get started. Robynb
